Team Member Spotlight: Meet Megan Kook
If you’ve called Barnett Financial & Tax or Financial Leadership University recently, there’s a good chance Megan Kook was the first voice you heard.
The First Voice Prospective Clients Hear
As Business Development Coordinator, Megan spends much of her day on the phone connecting with prospective clients and helping them take their first steps toward financial guidance and wealth freedom. An increasing part of her role involves cultivating financial education opportunities for the public through Financial Leadership University, the 501(c)(3) educational organization founded by CEO Rick Barnett.
In many ways, Megan serves as the front door of the company, creating a welcoming first experience for people exploring the services Barnett Financial & Tax provides.
Her work requires juggling many conversations throughout the day—speaking with clients and prospective clients, answering questions, and helping connect individuals with the right advisors within the firm. Her ability to communicate clearly and build rapport quickly is one of the strengths she brings to the team.
A Foundation in Marketing and Communication
Megan graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Business Marketing. She credits much of her professional inspiration to the mentorship of her professor, Dr. White, who helped spark her interest in sales and marketing.
That educational background blended perfectly with Megan’s naturally gift communicating with people. She guides conversations in ways that make prospective clients feel comfortable and appreciated.
Life Outside the Office
Megan and her husband, Colman, enjoy staying active and spending time together. Colman is a teacher at Faith Baptist School in Davison, Michigan, where Rick Barnett once sent his children.
When they’re not working, the couple often spends time at the gym or relaxing at home playing games—especially Monopoly Deal, a favorite. Megan also loves visiting the beach whenever she has the chance, something she misses from growing up on Florida’s west coast.
“My favorite thing to do,” she says, “is to be at home with my husband.”
